I went to school and became a massage therapist so I could quit the Postal Service and supplement my art career. Though I never professional practiced, I did fall in love with massage, getting and giving. I don't know why it took me so long to work massage into a piece! To get the 'spiritual' connection of massage I used the placement of the candle glow and branches, a nod to religious iconography.

In the last couple days I moved on to the pastel paper and it's going well. Really happy with how the face it turning out and the silver hair is really fun.

Having been a massage therapist and one who thoroughly enjoys a good deep massage, I have, until now, never done a massage themed painting. One of the aspects I want to infuse here is the almost spiritual feeling a good massage can achieve.
