“Learning the campus layout, familiarizing yourself with policies and schedules, meeting the professors and staff, are all requirements those first days and weeks at university, but first on the agenda is checking out the fellow freshmen you’ll be spending most your time with in very close quarters.”
Being the kind of artist that likes to go for a realistic look, certain elements are really a challenge with pastels. But I’ve also learned that not all elements have to be as detailed as others. If the focus is the figure, background elements can be left a little more ‘rough’.
