Much like window shopping, trainspotting is a harmless way to pass the time on the way to your destination.

One of my favorite pastimes is people watching. I suppose that would partly explain my occupation. Back when my boyfriend lived in NYC, we would often take the subway on our nightly excursions. I found the experience to be a fascinating mixture of people, who would come and go at every stop. Granted, most of my ogling was toward the male persuasion. But regardless of seat availability, riders would often stand for their short journey, keeping by the door, gripping the pole just a foot or so away from you. When it's right there in your face, how can you not look?
