Featured in a new non-fiction book.

A while back author Dee Michel reached out to me regarding use of one of my works. Usually when authors ask, it's for a gay romance novel. This book, 'Friends of Dorothy: Why Gay Men Love The Wizard of Oz,' instead, is an interesting look at the appeal 'The Wizard of Oz' has held for generations of gay men.

My painting 'Once In A Lullaby' appears on the back cover and page 175, because I myself reflected on the rainbow connection to that movie.

New Release: "Showerhead" with very limited print variant.

I don't think showering together saves water... since it often leads to other activities.

The original as well as prints are 10% for the release week special.

I almost didn't give him a lot of body hair, so I also have a very limited edition 'shaved' variant of "Showerhead": ONLY 10 Studio prints. Select Shaved Variant in the item drop down list to own one of these rarities.

2019 Calendars are coming!

Pre-Order the 2019 calendar now and save $3

UPDATE: You can still pre-order, but the sale has ended.

It's still in the design phase so all the artwork is not finalized, however the pieces will be ones that have not appeared in my previous calendars.

Orders containing the calendar will not ship until they are in stock - so you might want to order other items separately.

On the Drawing Board: Perspective on perspective

When I paint a figure at an angle that is more from above or below I realize how we most commonly view each other and ourselves on the vertical plain, the reflective face to face perspective. Think about how we have the ability to immediately identify a human shape in silhouette from this perspective, but when we change the angles (such as viewing from above) the outline becomes less familiar, shapes get distorted, some things become hidden while other come into view.

Cover for new Novel

B.K. Wright's new novel "Dare to Love" is out and features my painting "Holy Trinity" on the cover. So cool!  Having been inspired, when I was a kid, by the bold illustrated covers on fantasy, sci-fi, and romance paperbacks at the drugstore. It's always a thrill to see my own work on one. That's also why I like to get a hard copy, rather than just an ebook. You can get either, the hard copy or ebook now at Amazon

On the Drawing Board: Twisted Torso

Here's just a quick peek at my latest work. Which got me to thinking that anyone who spends anytime looking at art of the male nude will quickly recognize the prevalence of various 'twisted torso' poses in the genre. You know the ones, the strategic positions and angles designed to hide the genitals. While I have no problem showing full frontals, I do still debate on certain pieces whether or not to show the jewels. Though often it's not a matter of keeping a PG rating or about modesty, it's trying to decide if I want to paint the front or a butt.
