2011 Calendar I've had a bit of bad news. My 2011 calendars arrived this afternoon... and I am not happy at all with how they look. It appears I may have to go with another printer and have them re-made.

Those of you who have already ordered my 2011 calendar, I will be contacting you individually to find out if you'd like me to hold or cancel your order.

I hope to have them available in a couple of weeks. I will keep you informed.

Into the Vault
the vault

Every once in while, (it's been years since I last did this), I go through all the works I have available in my web gallery and decide to retire or put some away for awhile. So far I've never brought any back, but I'm not saying that it won't happen.

All prints, magnets, any merchandise, even e-cards of these works will no longer be available at BREYETTE.COM. At least for the time being.

As of September 13, 2010 the following will be put in the vault:

Addiction, JoeyDev, Qpid, BigSur, Rush, Cake & Eat It, No Parking, Clubbin', Nick of Time, Special Delivery, Afternoons in Anguilla, and Ronkwe.

New Release
A Dog and His Boy
A Dog and His Boy
I was very excited to complete my latest piece. I don't usually get to work with live models, so this was a rare treat. And what made it even more special was that the main subject of the painting is such a close, personal friend.

And the best part is, I only had to pay him in liver treats!

The original as well as limited edition Gallery and Studio prints are available for purchase at the special first day price through Midnight ET tomorrow.

What a lucky dog to get to share that bed! The glossy, satin sheets give a surreal touch to the background, as if the handsome sleeper is floating in a dream -- perhaps a wet one -- and the growing evidence of this has caught the pup's full attention. Yet another excellent artwork of a truly sex man!

Oops -- Michael. I just checked out this image again and realize I should have said "may have caught the pup's attention" as he (or she) may very well be asleep.

August 3, 2010

I hope everyone is having a great summer, or winter if you're in the southern hemisphere. It's been a while since my last newsletter. I've been slowly getting things back in order and playing catch-up now that my Iconic exhibit is over. I want to thank everyone who came to see or sent well wishes for my solo show last month in Provincetown. Moving forward...

Prick
Prick
Coming out is sorta like bursting a balloon. If you're the one doing it then you already know it's coming and can prepare yourself, though the moment is still a bit tense. For those around you, if they've been paying attention, then they know it's coming too. But prepared or not, when that balloon pops, it still gives you a start.

Prick is the title of my latest work. The Original as well as limited edition Gallery and Studio prints are available for purchase at the special first day price through Midnight ET tomorrow.

Beautiful haunting image of a male beauty that is never out of season. Handsome profile, the reflection in the water and especially how the water molds the shorts to the man make this artwork an instant Breyette classic. I predict it will find its owner quite quickly!

Still Waters Run Deep. Michael knows I had to say it. Not only is the man beautiful but the mist coming from the forest and off the lake is very ominous. You can almost hear as the man drags his hand trough the water because there is such silence.

Michael, this is a fantastic creation. Quiet tranquility and natural unassuming beauty. The guy is gorgeous. He is in a beautiful setting, and you have created a pensively stimulating picture. Its the kind of scene I just want to be part of ! In my dreams !!!!

Thanks guys! Richard, funny you mention 'pensively stimulating'. When I was working on this piece, it started reminding me of another one of my works (mood wise) and that one is called 'Pensive Sky'. John, I've actually had a couple nibbles already. So who knows, it might go quickly.

As beautiful as this work certainly is, for me, being originally from the gulf coast of Florida and having a deep affection for New Orleans, I can't help but see the scenery as something of a metaphor for what we, as 21st century humans, are destined to lose if we keep up our collective foolishness. Gorgeous as usual Michael. Thanks.
